Tutoring Policies and Expectations
At Gnesin Education, our goal is to provide every student with personalized, high-quality academic support in a positive and productive learning environment. To ensure fairness, consistency, and respect for everyone's time, we ask that all students and parents or guardians review the following policies before scheduling a session.
1. Scheduling & Payments
Session Booking
All tutoring sessions must be scheduled in advance. Booking requests are not guaranteed until confirmed by Gnesin Education. Availability may vary based on academic and professional commitments.
Recurring Sessions
Students interested in consistent weekly tutoring are encouraged to arrange recurring appointments in advance. Reserved time slots may be released if appointments are repeatedly canceled or missed.
Payment Requirements
Full payment is required before the scheduled session to confirm and secure an appointment. Sessions that have not been paid for may be canceled or made available to other students.
Prepaid Sessions & Packages
Prepaid tutoring sessions and packages must be used within three months of the original purchase date. Unused sessions expire after this period, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
2. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refunds
24-Hour Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time to qualify for a refund or rescheduling. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours' notice are nonrefundable.
Rescheduling
Students may reschedule appointments without penalty when at least 24 hours' notice is provided, subject to tutor availability. Requests to reschedule within 24 hours of the appointment will be treated as late cancellations unless an exception is approved.
No-Shows
Students who fail to attend a scheduled session without prior notice will forfeit the full session fee. Missed appointments are not eligible for refunds or complimentary replacement sessions.
Late Arrivals
Students who arrive late may participate for the remainder of their scheduled session. However, sessions will end at the originally scheduled time, and any missed time will not be refunded or automatically extended.
15-Minute Waiting Period
Tutors will wait up to 15 minutes after the scheduled start time. If a student has not arrived or communicated their delay within this period, the session may be classified as a no-show, and the full session fee will be forfeited.
Tutor Cancellations
If Gnesin Education must cancel a confirmed appointment, the student will be offered the choice of rescheduling at no additional cost or receiving a full refund for the affected session.
Emergency Exceptions
We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. Exceptions to the cancellation and rescheduling policies may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Gnesin Education.
3. Session Expectations & Preparation
Student Preparedness
Students are expected to arrive on time and prepared with any assignments, practice tests, questions, textbooks, or other relevant materials. Time spent locating or organizing materials during the session counts toward the scheduled tutoring time.
Customized Lesson Plan Requests
Students requesting a customized lesson plan covering specific topics, assignments, or study materials must submit all relevant information by 10:00 AM Eastern Time on the day of their scheduled session.
For sessions beginning before 10:00 AM, materials must be submitted by 6:00 PM Eastern Time on the preceding day.
Materials received after the applicable deadline may not be incorporated into that session. This policy ensures adequate preparation time and allows us to provide personalized, high-quality instruction.
Technical Difficulties
Students are responsible for ensuring they have a functioning device, stable internet connection, and access to the necessary online meeting platform. Technical issues on the student's end do not automatically qualify for refunds, rescheduling, or additional session time.
If technical difficulties originate on the tutor's end and prevent the session from taking place or significantly disrupt instruction, Gnesin Education will arrange appropriate replacement time or a refund for the affected portion of the session.
Additional Session Time
Sessions are limited to their scheduled duration. Extensions are subject to tutor availability and must be approved by the tutor. Additional tutoring time may incur an additional charge, which will be communicated before the extension begins.
Academic Integrity
Gnesin Education is committed to promoting independent learning and academic success. Tutors provide explanations, guided practice, feedback, and academic support but will not complete graded assignments, examinations, or other assessed work on behalf of students.
4. Communication & Professional Conduct
Communication Expectations
Students and parents or guardians are welcome to contact Gnesin Education regarding scheduling, academic progress, or general questions. Messages sent outside tutoring hours may not receive immediate responses.
Academic Assistance Outside Sessions
Extended academic assistance, additional instruction, or assignment help through text messages or email is not included in standard tutoring sessions. Students requiring further instruction are encouraged to schedule an additional appointment.
Respectful Conduct
All students, parents, guardians, and tutors are expected to maintain respectful and professional communication. Gnesin Education reserves the right to end a session or discontinue tutoring services in cases of harassment, threats, inappropriate conduct, or repeated disrespectful behavior. Any refund obligations will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
Recurring Appointment Reliability
Students who repeatedly cancel, reschedule, or miss recurring appointments may lose their reserved weekly time slot. Future appointments will be subject to availability.
5. Policy Agreement & Updates
By completing a booking or purchasing tutoring services after being presented with these policies, students and/or their parents or guardians acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined above, subject to applicable law.
Gnesin Education reserves the right to update these policies as necessary. Updated policies will be published on our website and will apply to future bookings rather than retroactively changing the terms of existing purchases.
